PAIA TOWN
Old-west style architecture facades painted in a patchwork of pastel colors embrace you as you pull into Paia town. The small T-shaped stretch of charming shop and restaurants will turn to your first impression, which reminds you of the funky California beach town in the 60s. For the better informed, Paia has become the stop in its own right. With a diverse mix of colorful and eccentric people, the independent bohemian vibe that will make you interested in this amazing town.
Take a stroll through Paia, you might see an unknown kid playing guitar in front of the Bank of Hawaii for tips, or Willie Nelson might show up unannounced to play with the local band while you’re eating a burger in Charley’s. If you’re looking for a memorable experience in a uniquely-Maui town, so North Shore will become the adventurous stop in Paia town in a day.
BALDWIN BEACH
Baldwin Beach is a wonderful, long, wide, sandy beach park just outside of Paia.
Entirely implemented with lifeguards, bathrooms, showers, barbecues, picnic tables and a covered pavilion. The beach is also a good place for a run and it is possible to continue on past the cove on a well-worn trail along a sea-wall. If your travels bring you by the North Shore early in the morning, definitely pit-stop here and take a long beach stroll –
Baldwin Beach typically has a mystical feeling in the early morning that is pretty contrary from the vibe late in the day. There are also protected swimming areas on both the east and west ends that offer calm pools for even the littlest ones This beach also features spectacular sunsets.
HO'OKIPA BEACH
With professional windsurfing competitions are held here, and you can have a chance to attend pros performing their thing on just about any day with the wind (most).
Ho’okipa beach also provides outstanding sightseers, a stunning backdrop to watch the best effortlessly play with the ocean in a way that mere mortals can only dream of.
"Pavilions" is not only the popular surfing-end but also the outlook of Ho’okipa, which is on the edge of a cliff overlooking. And more and more brave folks walk down toward the tip of the hard outcropping. You can enjoy the activities on the beach like snorkeling with diverse fishes, corals, and many green turtles basking in the sun. You can get so close to them and there were at least 20 at the time.
